Amongst other things, ATM aims to speak about the present extinction crisis and the urgent need to curb pesticide and herbicide use alongside using land more rationally to make cities potential havens for biodiversity. By focussing his art on native birds, ATM cements the extinction crisis firmly to our urban walls bringing the responsibility back from the tropics and reminding us we each can play a part. ATM (ATMstreetart) paints endangered species street art, using urban walls as a stark reminder of the species that once lived here, yet could again with habitat restoration. The painted walls exist to call attention to the beauty and importance of living creatures that are so often overlooked and whose needs so often ignored. He aims to inspire a transformation of our towns, cities and countryside by reNaturing and reWilding, for the benefit of us all. As well as in locations throughout the UK, his work can be seen in Poland, Norway and New York. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
