Thresher Shark

Langstone Harbour, Langstone, Isle of Wight

Thresher sharks visit the Solent waters every summer, to an area east of the Isle of Wight, where they give birth to their live pups.

They have a unique hunting strategy, swimming through schools of smaller fish and whipping the water with their very long tails, to stun the fish before eating them with their small mouths.
