The subject of each mural was voted for by the local community, and this was the favourite here, having a long tradition with the area.

The Secrets of the Solent campaign, of which the murals run alongside citizen science and education initiatives, is a plea for more understanding and protection of the unique habitat.

The Solent is under ever-more pressure from shipping, recreational activities, pollution and dogs, so more efforts are needed to ensure its survival.
